Dating from the year of 1951, an American young man named Patrick, who graduated from Connell University, devoted all himself to his hobby for music. Because of this, he left home for a remote place in the New York State, and opened his own stereo factory. Later, he worked in a well-known stereo company (called B-T) of that time in the USA. After he steeled himself in practical work for almost ten years, he was increasingly realizing that success relied on not only a hobby but also a support of technology. And at that time, he made up his mind to hew out a career again. Then, he firstly established a research institute, named EST, for researching sound-traveling principle of hi-fi. In the subsequent 17 years, the EST institute support design for many famous brands in the world, and recruited a lot of researchers, who are all engaged in electro acoustics research. A celebrated designer called Hart once served in the EST either.

Stepping into the 1980s, the son of the Patrick, also named Patrick, influenced by his family, further studied electro acoustics in Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After his graduation from the MIT, he succeed his father and set up a professional company of hi-fi named Patrick O' Connell Corporation in honor of his father. At that time, the company mainly based on the senior EST research institute, and launch their patented technology to the market unceasingly. Therefore, in less than two years, the company well developed and made marked progress. In 1986, Patrick started another company in England, because the supply fell short of demand and the products were popular with Europeans.

HISTORY

The Site of the Connell Corporation lies in the New York State which started in 1951. Although it failed in the end for its simple equipment of that time and small scale of several personnel, it left Connell some good memories of hewing out a career. Afterwards, with the development of the corporation, this building becomes the historic symbol to the corporation and also is amiably called as a cradle of the Q-factor enclosure.
